Fall 4-H Awards

forever-4h.jpgThe annual Emmons County fall 4-H awards recognition/family fun night was held Nov. 4, 2007. The evening consisted of card playing, board games and socializing, member, leader, and special recognition awards were given and the evening concluded with a potluck dessert and snacks social. An enjoyable evening was had by all.

PLANS FOR A NEW SENIOR CENTER

The senior citizens in Linton have started a fund drive to build a new senior center. Horizons created a real nice opportunity for much needed discussion in the area of senior citizens. Before the final stage of Horizons was complete, the seniors themselves took action and have started a fund drive to build a new facility. To take part or sponsor someone in the ‘Walkathon’ contact any Sr. Citizen member or president Luella Jochim at 254-4075. Goals for the new center include a handicap accessible facility along with a daily senior meal and the re-introduction of fresh/hot meals on wheels.

Linton receives a leadership mini-library!

mini-library.jpgCompliments of the Horizons program, residents of Linton can now take advantage of a mini-library dedicated to Leadership.  The mini-library is located within the Harry L Petrie Public Library.  Books are available to check out during library business hours and are geared to teach individuals how to become better leaders.
